Accessibility self-assessment report

This report is the basis of the accessibility statement of the website Credentium wallet. Date of assessment: .

Scope

Pages and states checked: sign-in; account creation from an invitation and the invalid invitation page; dashboard; digital credential list with the card menu; credential details; collections; profile; portfolio; public credential page with the verification dialog; public portfolio; “not found” pages in the wallet and on the public pages address.

Pages are checked in Polish. Pages available without signing in are also checked in English. PDF files of digital credentials and the Credentium Wallet mobile application are outside the scope of this assessment.

Method

  • Automated tests: axe-core 4.13 (through @axe-core/playwright) in Chromium, WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 rules at levels A and AA. The tests run after every deployment to the test environment. Every violation they find is a defect to fix.
  • A check that the page language (the lang attribute) matches the text shown, that the page has a title and that no invisible elements are in the Tab order.
  • A manual keyboard-only check: the “Skip to main content” link (sign-in, wallet, public page), the credential card menu (opening with Enter, moving into the menu with Tab, closing with Escape), the verification dialog on the public page (focus inside the dialog, closing with Escape, focus returning to the button).

Automated tests find only part of the problems described in WCAG. We will carry out a full manual evaluation, including screen readers, once the PDF files are accessible.

Results

Measurement before the fixes

  • a language picker without a label (success criterion 4.1.2);
  • insufficient contrast of grey supporting text, the credential language buttons and green buttons (1.4.3);
  • icon-only links and buttons without an accessible name (2.4.4, 4.1.2);
  • links in text distinguished from the surrounding text by colour only (1.4.1);
  • a “show password” button on the sign-in page that was too small (2.5.8);
  • “not found” pages without a language and a title, also on the public pages address (2.4.2, 3.1.1);
  • no “Skip to main content” link (2.4.1), a credential card menu that did not close with Escape (2.1.1) and a hidden mobile menu reachable with Tab (2.4.3).

Measurement after the fixes

All the problems listed above are fixed. No page, open dialog or menu of the wallet checked has any violation of the WCAG A and AA rules, page languages match the text, the “Skip to main content” link works and no invisible elements are in the Tab order. Account creation page: no violations. Keyboard check: all checks correct.
